Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 16, 2026
At Voice2Text ("we", "our", or "us"), we prioritize your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we handle data when you use our macOS application.
1. Core Privacy Principle: On-Device Processing
Voice2Text is built with privacy as its foundational feature. By default, all audio recording, transcription, and text processing (when using Local LLMs) happen entirely locally on your Mac. Your audio recordings and transcripts are not sent to our servers, nor are they accessible to us.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect, store, or monitor your audio recordings.
- We do not collect, store, or monitor your transcribed text.
- We do not track the applications you use with Voice2Text.
3. Optional Cloud Features
If you manually enable Cloud LLM processing (e.g., using OpenAI, Anthropic, or OpenRouter) within the app settings, your transcribed text (but not the audio) will be sent to the respective third-party provider for processing. This data is subject to the privacy policies of those respective providers. We do not proxy this data; the app communicates directly with the provider's API.
4. Payment Processing
We use Lemon Squeezy as our merchant of record. When you purchase Voice2Text, Lemon Squeezy collects necessary billing information. We only receive information necessary to issue your license key (such as your email address). We do not have access to your credit card details.
5. Contact Us
